Half Way There!!!

Today we are 20 Weeks! It's crazy to think we are half way there! In 20 short weeks we will have a little West in our lives! We went to our Big 20 Week Appointment Today and Dr. Boren confirmed we are having a beautiful Baby BOY! We found out the sex at 17 weeks and usually you are suppose to wait until 20 weeks, but she said it is definitely a boy!

Everything is moving right along with Baby West. All his organs measured up exactly on track and he had a heart rate of 134. Weighing a little under 12 ounces and measures about 6 inches.

It was a great morning hearing all the wonderful news that everything is moving along just great!

Lately I've been feeling really good! I've had a lot of energy during the day and quite the appetite. This baby is making me hungry! For the last couple weeks, I've been feeling the baby move! It is such a weird, but amazing feeling! I've been having trouble falling asleep at night, trying to get use to sleeping on my side. Jake is getting really excited about the baby and can't believe how quickly time is flying by! He is really enjoying his job! We get to have lunch together which helps break up the day and get me out and away from the computer for a while! He's been seeing around 15 patients a day and loves when he has friends of the family or Winnsboro patients come in! We couldn't be luckier to have found Dr. Smith. The practice is very well known in Tyler and a ton of his patients have already been referring friends and family to come see him!

Weekend in Houston

Friday night the Corkill's were so sweet to let me stay with them at their home in Kingwood. I loved hanging out with Marita! We are 6 weeks apart and both expecting BOYS on the way! Baby West can't wait to hang out with little Max!

This past weekend I hosted a Bridal Shower in Conroe for one of my Best friends Crystal Childs. It was so great to see everyone at the shower! Can't wait for the Riviera Maya destination wedding in October!

IT'S A BOY!!!!

The wait is over! At 17 weeks we were able to find out the sex of our baby!
WE ARE HAVING A BOY!
You can definitely see in the pictures below :) We are both sooo excited to have a son on the way!! We are still in the process of picking a name, it's so hard deciding! Last night we had The West's, Allen's, and Jake's grandparents over to share the news. We had them divide up and guess. It was a spit right down the middle! Half thought we were having a girl and half thought it was a Boy! Ronnie and Paula both thought it was a Boy. We revealed the Cake and everyone started screaming... where was the video camera! After my mom got home from work late last night, Jake and I got on Skype with them to share the news. They are very excited to have their first grandson on the way!
The Doctor said everything looks great and Baby West has a healthy heart beat.

BOY OR GIRL

I can hardly stand not knowing if we are having a Boy or Girl! I've recently had a couple of dreams it's a girl..... Check back in two weeks and we will have an answer! I feel like my tummy is getting bigger and bigger! I am probably going regret this weekly picture post when I am HUGE! We go to the doctor next week and I can't wait to see a sonogram and hear how Baby West is doing. I have recently gotten a ton of energy throughout the day! Mornings are still pretty tough, but when have morning ever been good for me!

Shelby's Specialties Celebrates 5 YEARS!!

I can hardly believe how fast time is flying by! It seems like just yesterday I was graduating from college and wondering what in the world I was going to do! Can I just say... THANK YOU AUNT PAM! Without you, who knows what I would be doing right now! I have loved every second of my job over the last 5 years and that is not something most people can say. For those of you reading... my Aunt Pam has her own Promotional Product business out of El Paso called Steven's Specialties. She has been in this business for 30+ years! After graduating from college, Aunt Pam helped me get my business started. I couldn't thank her enough. It has allowed me to not only support our family for the last 5 years, but best of all... be my own boss and work from home! Thank you to all my customers over the last 5 years. I hope to continue to work with you for many, many more years to come.... oh and a baby isn't going to stop Shelby's Specialties! Maybe just take a little break in Dec. and Jan. :)

Dr. Jacob West

The day is finally here!! Jake had his first day of work on July 19th! I can't believe it! We spent the weekend getting his office all ready. He had a new desk delivered and we rearranged his equipment in the room. After hanging his diploma's on the wall and the cute mirror glasses from Aunt Kandy, the office looks great! His first few days of work went great. Each day he has come home with a ton of stories. The highlight of the week was when he found out he will not have to work Saturdays! This has been the only thing he has been dreading, but Dr. Smith said he will only be working Monday-Friday! YAYYYY! I think we can finally say we are settled in Tyler!

Aunts Come to Tyler

Each year, My Mom and her sisters take a yearly Sisters Trip. This year they decided they would visit all the family in the Dallas area. Monday they all met at our house! We spent the day shopping around Tyler and they all staying the night. Tuesday afternoon, Debby and her best friend Olivia, hosted a luncheon for me at the Potporri House in Tyler. Olivia's Daughter Dominique, lives in Tyler and it was a great way for me to me some of Dominique's friends! Thank you so much Aunt Debby, it was Perfect!

We are an ORANGE!

Baby West is now the size of a Navel Orange! 4.5 inches! That's crazy how big he/she has gotten in the last week! Yummm, that looks good, I think I will go have one ;)

2nd Trimester Here We Come!

FINALLY!! We are 13 weeks! We had a Doctors appointment Today. Baby West had a healthy heartbeat. Our next app. will be at 17 weeks. At 20 we will be finding out the sex and WE CAN'T WAIT! Jake is sure it is a Boy, haha! The end of August will be when we find out! I've posted some pics of my Baby Bump :) Yep, I think you can tell finally! None of my clothes fit! Doctor says I've gained 2 lbs so far... this might be my one and only post of my wait gain so Enjoy. I don't quite have all my energy back and I am still needing a nap here and there, but hopefully that will pass soon. Cravings... well a Hot Dog for the 4th sounded delicious leading up to the weekend and I've been on a lemonade kick lately.

Next week will be Jake's last week off until he starts work on July 19th. He is definitely ready to start! He's had a nice long break since April and is ready to start working after 21 years of school!

BABY WEST IS 10 WEEKS

We had our 10 week Appointment Today! It was sooo fun seeing the baby moving around his/her arms and legs! It is truly amazing to think this little baby is growing inside of me!

I've been feeling extremely tired lately! I've been told to take advantage of all the sleep since I will be needing it when the baby arrives! Other than being tired all the time, I feel fine! Jake is getting really excited these days. Hanging out with his cousin Lance, he is getting to see how joyful it is to be a Dad!

RIVER WEEKEND

It can't be summer without an Annual River Trip! We rented a house in New Braunfels with Damon, Missy, Crystal, Brent and Blake Bain! Kase and Logan came down and hung out too! Friday we went to Canyon Lake with Jake's parents boat and Saturday we floated the river! Saturday evening we went to Whitewater for a Randy Rogers concert! Missy booked us a VIP Table! sooo much fun!

BABY WEST IS ON THE WAY

We are excited to announce a little West is on the way!

We had our first Doctors visit on June 3rd here in Tyler. Our Doctor said everything looked GREAT and Baby West was 8 weeks with a Due Date of January 14th, 2011. Thank you everyone for all your prayers over the last several months!

2209 Firestone Circle

After 6 months of looking at houses online and several trips to Tyler, we found a house! It is located South of town in a beautiful neighborhood called Hollytree. Wednesday evening, we picked up the U-Hauls. My parents arrived right away willing to help us load up our entire house! We couldn't have done it without them! Friday, my Mom, Jake and I headed to Tyler. My mom driving one U-haul, Jake in the other, and me in Jake's truck. Dad drove up on Saturday. We were greeted by our friendly neighbors Becky and Mark Jones. Along with the neighbors were the West's and Allen's ready to help unload the U-Hauls! THANK YOU sooo much for all your help! My parents stayed the weekend to help put our new home together and by Sunday, pictures were hung on the wall! THANK YOU MOM AND DAD FOR EVERYTHING! From the sale of our home to the purchase of this home, we could not have done it without your help DAD! Thanks for being our Realtor and for all your help through the whole process. I know it was a tough one!

Tyler Bound

We knew this day would soon come, just didn't realize how quick! Ever since Jake and I started dating, or should I say.... the day I met Jake.... I knew he was an East Texas Boy! It worked out great Optometry School happened to be in Houston, but I always knew after the 4 yrs at U of H, we would be heading somewhere in East Texas. Since we come from such different towns, we decided a perfect compromise would be TYLER, TEXAS. A small town feel, but with a Mall, Target and Bed Bath and Beyond :) It worked out perfect one afternoon a classmate mentioned to Jake that his father could help him find a job in East Texas. The next day, the classmates Father (who is an Optometrist) called Jake and said, "Dr. Ronald Smith in Tyler is in need of a partner!" Exactly one year ago, we drove into Tyler to meet Dr. Smith and the rest is history!

Going Away Party

The Corkill's were so sweet to put together a going away party for us! Thank you all so much for coming! We are going to Miss You all sooo much! Everyone better come visit us!
